The AeroJet from Musashi Engineering is a non-contact jet dispenser valve that uses an original jet mechanism to dispense material at the nanolitre scale, achieving a maximum speed of 333 shots per second. Unlike traditional contact dispensing, the AeroJet fires discrete droplets of fluid onto the substrate without touching it — eliminating needle wear, substrate damage, and positional error caused by mechanical contact.
The AeroJet is engineered for mid to high viscosity fluids, handling materials such as epoxies, silicones, solder pastes, thermal compounds, and underfill materials that are often difficult to jet at high speed with conventional valve designs.
With a durability 4 times that of conventional jet models, the AeroJet sets a new standard for valve service life in production environments. Its temperature control mechanism is provided as standard equipment, maintaining fluid viscosity within the optimal dispensing range even when ambient or fluid temperatures fluctuate during long production runs.
The result is stable dispensing reproducibility across millions of shots — reducing maintenance frequency, minimising unplanned downtime, and ensuring consistent dot volume and placement across entire production batches.
The AeroJet excels in underfill dispensing, die attach adhesive application, solder flux jetting, thermal interface material deposition, and high-speed LED encapsulation. Available as a stand-alone valve head compatible with Musashi desktop robots and fully automatic dispensing machines.
Maximum jetting speed: 333 Hz (shots per second). Minimum dispensing volume: nanolitre-scale droplets. Temperature control: integrated, provided as standard. Compatible fluids: epoxies, silicones, underfill materials, solder flux, thermal interface materials, and other mid-to-high viscosity fluids. The AeroJet mounts directly to Musashi dispensing robots and FAD series fully automatic dispensing machines, allowing seamless integration into new or existing automated production lines.
The integrated temperature control maintains fluid at the optimal viscosity for consistent jetting performance, eliminating the need for external heating accessories. The valve’s original jet mechanism is specifically designed for durability with viscous materials — the category where most competitive jet valves experience rapid wear and performance degradation.
Contact dispensing — where the needle touches the substrate — introduces positional variability, tip wear, substrate damage risk, and cycle time limitations caused by touch-and-retract motion. Non-contact jetting eliminates all of these constraints. The AeroJet fires droplets precisely and repeatedly at high speed, enabling finer dot placement, higher throughput, and reduced consumable cost compared to contact valve systems.
For manufacturers working with high-value substrates or demanding sub-millimetre placement tolerances, the switch to AeroJet non-contact jetting delivers measurable improvements in yield, throughput, and total process cost.
Prof-Tek is the authorised Musashi Engineering distributor for Australia and New Zealand, supplying the AeroJet and the complete range of Musashi jet dispensing valves. Our technical team can advise on valve selection, machine integration, and fluid compatibility for your specific application. Contact Prof-Tek for a quotation or to arrange a process evaluation.
Musashi Engineering, Inc. developed the AeroJet to extend the capabilities of non-contact jet dispensing into mid-to-high viscosity fluids — a segment where earlier jet valve designs struggled with rapid wear, inconsistent dot formation, and temperature sensitivity. The AeroJet’s original mechanism addresses each of these challenges directly, delivering a jet valve that performs reliably with the viscous fluids that represent some of the most demanding applications in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
Prof-Tek’s technical team has hands-on experience with the AeroJet across a range of Australian and New Zealand manufacturing applications. If you are evaluating non-contact jetting for your process, contact Prof-Tek to discuss whether the AeroJet is the right valve for your fluid, substrate, and throughput requirements.
The AeroJet is a high-performance non-contact jet dispenser valve designed for mid-to-high viscosity fluids that would typically clog piezo-based systems. As a non-contact jet dispenser valve, it eliminates substrate contact, reducing contamination risk and enabling dispensing onto uneven or delicate surfaces. The AeroJet non-contact jet dispenser valve is available from Prof-Tek for installation into existing automated dispensing lines.
